Everyone needs help sometimes. When faced with mental and emotional difficulties, seeking treatment is vital to every person's wellbeing. Your choice to seek help is a strong measure of your self-love, open-mindedness, and courage. Seeking help requires accepting one's vulnerability in order to be able to acknowledge one's difficulties, learn to face those difficulties, and with treatment, become powerful enough to make necessary changes in one's life. This is, without a doubt, a great challenge, but the rewards are invaluable and endless. I commend you for taking this step, I welcome you, and I look forward to helping you achieve and live your best life.
My treatment philosophy is strength-based and is centered around providing adequate psychoeducation to equip you with the crucial knowledge and understanding necessary to foster your growth and empowerment. This way, together we can achieve sustained progress through treatment and the successful resolution of your symptoms. In support of my treatment philosophy, I have received strong training and experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and integrative behavioral couple therapy (IBCT). I also find integrating acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions in treatment to often be highly effective.
I am a strong proponent of healthy living, balance, and self-care in conjunction with treatment because I have witnessed the numerous positive effects of these on one's overall wellbeing and how these help my patients respond to treatment. To this end, in addition to the treatment I provide, I strongly encourage and facilitate my patients' discovery and engagement in self-fulfilling activities of all kinds.
I pride myself in being authentic, real, practical, and honest.
